This is the final section of the 78 miles (125 km) long Capital Ring. Most of the walks of The Capital Ring are through London’s green spaces. If you plan to walk all sections, I recommend this guidebook by Colin Saunders. This final (15th) walk of 5 miles (7.8 km) is a stunning walk along what appears a forgotten section of the Thames riverbank. The route starts at Royal Albert station and finishes at Woolwich Arsenal station. The route is well waymarked.
The route starts at Royal Abert station, where the previous section ended. The route encounters the Royal Albert Dock, passes King George V Dock, and follows the river Thames to the Woolwich Foot Tunnel. At the other side of the Foot Tunnel is where The Capital Ring officially ends (and starts). From this point you can follow the route to Woolwich Arsenal station.
