Get Outside

This is a beautiful well-marked route of 11 km along the IJssel and through farmland and pastures.

The route officially starts in Veessen, which can be reached by public transportation (bus 502 from Wezep). Alternatively, you can start near the church in Vorchten (also reachable by bus 502). This allows you to stop for a good cup of coffee at koek en ei (closed on Sundays and Mondays) in Veessen about halfway through the walk rather than at the start or end of the walk.

This is a circular route that can be walked in both directions, but I would suggest to start with the northern section through farmland and pastures so you can save the best part, the section along the IJssel, for last.
