A beautiful and diverse linear walk (22.5km) starting at Amersfoort CS and finishing at Hollandsche Rading train station. The route takes you through woodland, heath landscape, and sand drifts. This route is waymarked with white/red.
At point 1 (where multiple tracks meet at a picknick table) the route follows the cycling lane, but I suggest following a trail on the right hand-side of the cycling land through the woods and sand drifts parallel to the cycling lane (this is the route on the map below). This alternative route provides you with much better views over the sand drifts. Eventually you will encounter the cycling lane again.
You cross a busy road to reach Soestduinen, passing restaurant De Soester Duinen and reaching another large area of sand drifts. Here you can again choose between following the white/red route or take the alternative route on the map, crossing more of the sand drifts.
You will pass restaurant Mauritshoeve and local produce shop Boerderij Eyckenstein to reach the final section of the route through the beautiful woodlands of De Lage Vuursche. The walk finishes at train station Hollandsche Rading.
