A circular walk of 14.5 km (9 miles) though the beautiful woodlands of the Wealden landscape and along the waterside of Ardingly Reservoir. The route starts and finishes at Balcombe station and the café at Wakehurst Place Botanical Gardens offers a place for lunch approximately mid-way. Another option is to go slightly off-route into Ardingly, where you can find a small shop and public toilets. This route is taken from Walks in the Country near London by Christoper Somerville. The route is not waymarked.
